** Use these steps for NEW Sliding Gate installations.

Gate Wheel diagram, Lock & Roll Anti-Theft Wheels
  • Step 1

Remove existing gate completely from the existing track.

  • Step 2

Remove the Angle Iron or Round Bar from the exciting mounted base.

  • Step 3**

For best results, security and safety, it is recommended that Round Bars are welded to the open side of the Lipped Channel as anchors. This needs to be well concreted into the ground as a base. We recommend the round bars to be minimum 12mm x 200mm and are secured in the soil before the round bars are welded to the lipped channel. Weld the Special Track to the top of the lipped channel (Base).

  • Step 4**

Slide the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies on to the Special Track.

  • Step 5

Remove old wheel assemblies and gate motor gear track from gate.

  • Step 6

Remove all existing gate guides and stops from fence or wall as the gate will be approximately 20mm higher.

  • Step 7**

Space the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies in the approximate installation position on the Special Track. Position the gate on top of the new Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies.

  • Step 8**

Before welding the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies to the gate, insure that the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies are aligned with the Special Track as this might result in the brackets of the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies wedging to the Special Track.

  • Step 9**

Before welding the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies to the gate, only tack it to ensure the gate move smoothly from close to open and back, if not realign the Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies before welding. Weld the straightened Lock & Roll Wheel Assemblies to the gate.

  • Step 10**

Position and assemble or weld the new Lock & Roll Guides to the fence or wall.

  • Step 11**

When installing the gate motor gear track to the gate, ensure that the clearance between the gate motor gear and the gate motor gear track is less than 4mm. This is to ensure you cannot lift the gate off the gate motor gear and slide it open.

  • Step 12**

Weld 500mm length of Angle Iron or Flat Bar on top of the gear track between the gate and the gear track.  Make sure this is welded on the section of gear track over the gate motor gear when the gate is in the closed position.

Thank you from Lock & Roll for installing the next level for Peace of Mind.
